Oh What, Oh What, Oh What to Get?
Nothing set in stone as yet, but I'm considering a new bike.
The CBR is getting a little long in the tooth (75,000k), and I'd like it as a track toy before it runs out of life...
But what to replace it with? The only option is green and has to be new, althought possibly in blue. My heart wants a ZX10, but I'm not sure this is right for the kind of riding I do.
First up, I ride a lot. 25,000k a year, on the road almost every day, 50k journeys in absolutly any weather. I also need to carry a small amount of luggage, usually a pair of work trousers and lunch.
So far on the cards is...
an 06 ZX6
an 07 ZX10
an 06 ZX12 if I can find a new one
Are any of these suited for my daily slog?
Should I consider a Z1000 even though I'm not so keen on unfaired?
Are there any other bikes I should be considering?
Shoud I buy a cheap car to comute in, a cheap Kwak to play on and track the CBR?
Should I just run the CBR into the ground?
Should I just stop asking silly questions and go buy a bike already?

Lainie, you trying to sell my bike again..
Yesterday i went out for a good blast and gee i love it.. Hmmm 14 though...
And out of those 3 bikes the 12 is going to be the best commuter i would say. The 6 will be a close second due to it probably being somewhat a more versatile bike, only concern for you is you are not a shorty. The litre bike is going to want to be ridden flat out everywhere i reckon..They are just a pure race machine with a rego plate on em. Ask a Lucas and Groggles and see what new and old reports you get about commuting. Just remember the 12 is 210kg dry and although i reckon will be the best commuter i still tend to think is a bit of a barge around the melbourne peak traffic. Apart from that they are pure adrenilin mike, a real rocket ship with a reasonable amount of comfort to go with it. Gos will disagree but he lives in Canberra where peak hour is 2 cars and a pushie in his way..
Hope this helps in some way. Oh and just for your info, i believe floyd parkes still has a new 06 12.

Already asked, he's sold itLainie wrote:Take Blue12's bike off his hand leave him free for the 14 he wants![]()
IF ya didn't want new ya could of got Kris to sell the 10 you hated so much
He's offering me some very good prices on new bikes, but maybe not the 07 zx6 and if I get a new one I don't want to wait another month. I was planning this for before Christmas. In reality it's between the 6 and the 10. I want the 10 but the six is probably more realistic. Can't find a dealer in Melb with any 12s left.
