bike performance....

Post by Yankee »

i think that is the name of the place off pickering st. where a nice dude who likes kwaks works on bikes. I've only had "little" jobs done by him, but i was wondering if anyone has had major services done there.... and if so, how'd it go? I think his name is Darcy? i was happy with the little jobs.....
I was just a bit skeptical of letting some "apprentices" practice on my bike at a major retailer/workshop? Cuz i desperately need to do my 36K service (uh, the bike is getting close to 40K now! lol opps)

Ur a brissy resident yeah? Where abouts are you situated?

I ALWAYS take my bike to Brisbane Dynobikes in Wacol. Top mechanics there that really give a shit and love bikes (some of em race). Really good personal service, they know their shit, and you can go in and talk to the mechanic, let him know exactly the situation with your bike and what you'd like done.

Never had any probs with these guys.

What does it cost for a general service from those guys?
I do the oil/filter changes myself at present, & for the Oil & Filter, It costs me approx $60 for Shell Advance Ultra & $25 for the filter & takes about 1/2hr by the time the oils drained.

But i think I'll be going to Alex at LAE Racing in Geebung. He fitted n mapped big kevs commander on the zx12r for the 169.9 rwhp n did my suspension set up last week. Yankee ...............yep his name is Darcy and the business is called Bike Performance(pickering st enoggerra). Mate you won't have a problem with darcy...........another top bloke that won't rip you off. A bit like mick @ MTM..........two of the nicest blokes you wanna meet that have anything to do with bikes. I believe that redzedx7r(sean) goes there as well.

How long has Darcy been down there ?

When I was living in Brisbane in the early 80s there was a guy called Darcy at a shop down in Enoggera, near the back gates of the barracks, under the train line, can't remember the name of the street. He had a modded z900 or 1000 bored out to 1140 and did good work back then.

<wow, that was a long time ago !>

My Mum owned two food shops in that same location which used to serve a lot of very hungry soldiers!! Not sure if you'd remember the shops: Australian Fried Chicken and Australian Perfect Pizza (don't blame us, it had those names when she bought the places).

Brisbane Dynobikes:

(07) 3271 1899

6/2 Industrial Ave, Wacol Q 4076 (You can see them going along progress road) Theyre in a complex on the corner of progress rd and industrial ave).

They charge $220 + parts for a full service (though I always get discouts! :D )

They also do racebike prep if you're into that too.

Ave a look around.
