if they are painted then you can do it urself with paint stripper. I did it to my ten. If they are powder coated then u will have it done properly.

Hi People

I never really considered polishing the rims on my bike, until i was washing it the other day an notices the paint is peeling in several spots. I did a search on the net to find out more and they do look good, i was wondering if any do it yourselfers had tips or advice or would like to share their process or if there is a place in Brisbane that'll do em for a reasonable cost

i have a 99 zx9r blue :kuda:

Stop bringing up a 3 year old thread.
If you really want to polish ya rims... ring Aitkens Motorcycles and they will put you onto a guy in Liverpool. Last year it was $300 both rims.

I did the rims on the 12 - One coat of paintstripper on the outer flat edges, the factory finish just 'fell' off !! - too easy.....

Only problem is keeping the bastards clean..... :x

3 year old thread ?? well done !!

   yes, they enjoy a bit of *lavishment* .....

I was amazed actually when I did my rims for PC to paint the hubs/spokes and centre section with 2-pack.....  - the outer flat sections of rim, it looked like they had received 1 coat of factory finish !! it just peeled off, no elbow grease needed at all ....
