Trackday transport...

Hey all,

What is the best way to transport bikes to a trackday ?

Going from Sydney to Wakefield, just this side of Canberra.

trailer,

if you dont have a trailer, or a ute
ride it, and get someone to drive a car with you to take all your track bits and tools

Flatbed trailer type trailer ???
There is the option to hire a 2/3 Tonne Van from Thrifty as we have about 8 bikes heading down

Single or double axle? front access?? Spare wheel??? Fitted out???? Colour????? Condition?????? How fuggin much mate???????

I used to hire bike trailers from servos before I bought my own. A ramp that will do the job is just as important as the trailer/ute.
I wrecked my fairing lowers on the short steel ramps that are normally provided with the rental trailers, and now use 2m of ally scaffold.

The BEST way is in the back of a van. Bike stays dry and relatively hard to steal.

Next best is enclosed trailer for the same reasons.

Ute and trailer follow. I use an open trailer and it works foin but would be good to have some cover over the bike. High utes like one tonners need a loooongg ramp otherwise bottom of bike will ground on top of ramp angle.

Get some good quality tie downs and replace them regularly, I replace mine yearly no matter. I have seen (with me own two eyes) bikes jump off a trailer and its never pretty. Cheap insurance is good quality tie downs.
