2007 R1 or ZX10R?
2007 R1 or ZX10R?
Hey guys and gals...
I'm in the market for a new bike now. I've clocked up 30K on the 10R and its time to let her go. I've also sold my zx6 so come friday, I'm without a bike.
The contenders for the new role are the all new R1 and the 10R. Its gonna finally come down to rider comfort, but just based on specs (and monetry terms), which would you suggest (with as little bias as possible). I've got really really hot deals for both...
Thanks all...

Your asking for an unbiased opinion on a Kawasaki site?
I know for me I chose on a number of factors, primarily being comfort (10 was much comfier, R1 roasted my arse) and price (10 was $1000 cheaper than the deal I could get on the R1). Performance wise there wasn't much in it for my level of riding.

R1's are like a certain part of the female anatomy ie "every c#%t's got one"
Based on that alone I'd go the 10. Having said that the R1 is a mighty fine bike and other than the fact that it has a Yamaha sticker on it I'm sure you wouldn't be dissapointed. Take the pair of them for a ride and see which one feel's best. Then if the answer is the Yamaha ..Piss off get a dog up ya and don't ever show your face around here again... only kidding.
Have you considered the GSXR though. I'd probably consider that my second choice behind the 10.
Good luck mate...decisions, decisions

after the bike show on the weekend. the R1 and the 10 would be top 2 on my list of choices as well.
the front of the new GSXR just looks a little weird to me.
having only sat on the new 10 and new R1 for a couple minutes (havent ridden either yet - they wouldnt give me the keys at the show) i couldnt honestly say which i find more comfortable.
Good luck with the deciding. its a decision i wish i had to make for myself this weekend
Im sure both bikes will be awesome.

They are both wheel standing, wheel spinning monsters with mega horspeower and razor sharp handling. But only one will make ya giggle while it does it!!!!! Which one? Well for me it's the kwacka! But for you??? Well,............ ride em both, and go buy the Kwacka!

Re: 2007 R1 or ZX10R?
If you've managed to get a price on a yet-to-be-released all-new model which makes is competitive with a year-old model which is having trouble attracting sales, I dare suggest you should be *giving* advice, not asking for it.kypez wrote:The contenders for the new role are the all new R1 and the 10R. To actually answer your question, I wouldn't be making any decisions until you've actually had a chance to ride both. Reading between the lines of the couple of launch reports of the 07 R1 which have filtered through, the new bike has gone even further down the plug-n-play route than the current bike already is. For me, that would make it boring and uninvolving to own, so I'd go the 10R.
