Im painting my wheels..Tips please chaps..
Ok, as you can see from my sig pic, the wheels on my 7r are a orangey yellow which were on it when i bought the bike. I want to strip them, paint the spoke and innerpart and polish the rims. So, do i polish the rims once the whole wheel is stripped, then mask the polished rims, and then paint? or strip, paint , then polish?.. Ta guys.

I would strip the wheels first paint then polish, you could then seal the complete wheel. It will save time in the sense that you will not need to polish them as often as unsealed wheels. Mine are fully polished and they are a pain in the ass as they polishing all the time.

ok here is my tips after going through a similar thing
paint strip the edge to the centre lip , the wheel has been machined to this point so is nice and smooth underneath so the paint comes off easy and will be easy to polish from there
do not paint strip the centres , just rub down and paint as the centres are cast and have a rough finish the paint sticks like shit to a blanket and will take you forever to strip and do your head in , i gave up in the end and had them sandblasted
i would suggest strip the edges, rub down the centres , polish your edges , mask up and spray the centres in that order

Ok, all done, stipped the wheels completely, polished the rims, then masked up polished rims and painted spokes etc. Im pleased with the result seeing as i did them out of a can. i did go to a good paint shop tho and get the right primer, tape etc. Also bought a nice new wavey disc for the rear. When i get a chance to take a pic, i will..
