LED Blinkers

Post by Tack »

The rubber isolator on the standard blinker stalk broke last week (just fell apart from sun damage I think) and I never really liked the standard blinkers anyway so I got these LED blinkers off ebay for the ZX7R.

I dunno if they are meant to have a cover over them...none were advertised with them and I can't see that a cover could be fitted....However while they look a bit better than standard they are very hard to see front on in the daylight....so I dunno whether they are really worth it...and I posted this so others might be aware also....if they have a cover it might be ok...but just think about them first (a cover makes them brighter and very noticeable ...believe it or not).

I will have to tell how I amuse myself sometimes....lol...not that it's really funny but...an LED light has less resistance and so if you fit them in place of the standard globe the flasher relay will flash at a million miles an hour.....so rather than wire in a resistor....I simply wired in the standard globe.....lol....(covered it ofcourse)...probably not what the more conscientious people what have done but I thought it was amusing...lol

That was the point of the post if you read it .... anyway...what makes you think that any other motorist can see you or your bike let alone your blinker

I did read it:
Why post it then if you already know you would be killed

Honestly, I don't know about the VIC ROADS would do, but in NSW you would not get it past rego inspection, besides that you would like to give yourself the best chance?

I dunno whether your just trying to be funny or whether your just plain stupid.
and I posted this so others might be aware also.

That was the point of the post.

Another thing...I don't think it's neceasary to say stupid things like you have .... fine if you don't like them but don't go round tellin people that they are definitely gunna be killed unless your 100% certain they are gunna be...othewise it's just your fuckin dumb opinion and you could be wrong...you haven't even seen them work so you have no idea.

Ok, Sorry if you took it the wrong way, I would never wish that on anybody, Just I have seen those blinkers in action, put them on actually and took them off again because they were too dull.

PS: You did not say if you put the original indicators back on or not and I am not dumb.

I recently brought an undertail off ebay which came with clear running lights & I was stuck with the delema of how to cover the clear so I get a red running light. After some investigation the cheapest means I found was to get some 'brake lamp red dye' paint from autobarn for around $12 & was absolutely surprised at the result. I painted them with 1 coat & it only gave a very pale pink colour & I figured "hmmm, gonna need a lota coats here". But to my amazement I tried them on a battery & they came out brilliant! Autobarn also have amber lens dye, so if your gonna stay with that style you could try this.
Hope it helps.
