Hardest poll I have voted in
...........
If the reason for sponsorship is to promote KSRC, then the last option is really the only option. Providing sponsorship to an unknown rider would not really 'promote' KSRC as such, although I am sure it would be welcomed by the unknown rider.
If the reason for sponsorship is to assist KSRC members who race, then the first option is the best. There are already a couple of members who race, not sure in the *exact* number who race in a national series ( if any ?)
Most of the 'big-name' riders would have different sponsorship 'packages' available to potential sponsors, and it is all about the dollars you can put into the team.
As MadKaw said in an earlier post about this, the choice is there to be a 'major' sponsor of a lesser-known rider (who generally have SFA money in the first place), or a lower level of sponsorship to a 'name' rider.
Share the Love - sponsor 1 rider in National titles, say Supersport, and split the rest among those KSRC members who are out there having a go.
This is a 'sportsbike' site after all, so its all about who far you can stretch that throttle cable
just my unsponsored 2c worth

My worthless opinion is someone who currently does it in their own state and is relatively unknown. Maybe we should also qualify it with "Has some talent" and "Could do with the help". I see the state thing as perhaps a way to maybe give someone a step up into the national league...?
But my opinion isn't based on much...

I think we will have to choose only one way to spend the donations..
I don't believe there will be that much to spread around...

How about we vote for just ksrc user or not.. then norrow it down after it's unanimous one way or the other?
I was happy with non user, then either unknown, or somewhat known... Obviously supporting someone known would be nice, but they would most likely expect more as they are already most likely corporate, and prob don't need it as much.

We'll be all polled out if we do that..
The next poll will be in regard to $ amounts.....
I figure this would do a couple of things,
1. give an indication of the numbers interested in donating (if we don't get over 100 It propbly won't be worth it).
2. give us an idea were ppl would prefer the money to go.
As I don't know any KSRC member who races nationally, I'm not sure that option is valid.. If there is one or someone intends to next year, let us know.!

I voted for a "somewhat" known rider (Non KSRC). I figured that was the reason behind this idea, to help someone get "known".
I have no problems with a KSRC rider, but what I would have a problem with is deciding which one it was, as they are all champion guys who give it their all. I figured the safest (and fairest) option was to go outside of KSRC.

I'd say a relatively unknown up and comer (non KSRC), doing national stuff. Reasons being
It'll mean more to someone with nothing and we'll get a bigger sticker on their bike.
Their bike will be circulating and/or in the pits anyway so people might notice it.
Flick the dude some T shirts and caps etc and he may actually wear them whereas someone well known will bury them in their socks/undies draw.
We may also be able to offer some help of a non monetary nature ie getting parts, helping in the pits, transporting gear, accommodation when interstate etc, all of which can help a youngster a shitload more than someone who's already good with sponsors etc.
We're not going to come up with massive bucks so a big, recognised dude is going to put a KSRC sticker on his swingarm and that's probably about it.
If it's a KSRCer (god love 'em) then how do you pick who. Although Dave and his pirate bike make the decision pretty simple
Just some thoughts..

I voted for a national ksrc rider, now there isn’t one at this stage so I believe but there may be one in the near future if this works out.
Part of the deal to a somewhat known rider could or should include membership here which means we will be sponsoring a KSRC rider
I personally would rather a KSRC member to get the assistance even if it means spreading it thinly amongst the current member racers until we get a clear stand out who can make it nationally?

IMHO I dont think we will get much space on a well known rider's bike.... because usually they already have some big sponsors.... I think an up'n'coming rider would be the way to go... Someone with a future, young, energetic and with some natural talent....
And someone who would do better with more sponsorship, rather than someone who doesnt need it....

And who hopefully doesn't blow it up in smoke like A Gobert
I went for a KSRC national rider, if we have one... but as has been pointed out, the prob with that idea is we have more than one KSRC member racing...
