I'm new to this site. Good to see an Australian site too. I have a 1996 ZX7R which I have had for about 4 years. Sold my ZXR750 (89) for this but probably should not have as it was becoming quite collectable.
Just bought an ex Harold Eckl World Superbike which I am going to restore. I'll post some pics of what I am doing with the bike.
Last people to ride the bike was Ivan Clemmenti and Mauro Sanchini but before Team Bertochi got the bike, it was Yanagawas 1997 WSBK when he was wearing #8. Here are a couple of pics anyway.

Hi and welcome. Love to see the bike when its finished. I got 2 bikes...a 91 ZXR750 J track bike and a 97 ZX7R road bike...so you can understand my interest.
Did it come complete with special racing parts etc?? Love to see how it weighs complete.
Do you know how much power it had? Any real trick bits that you've found??

Hopefully I can answer a few questions here.
I haven't dynoed the bike yet. As soon as I got it, I stripped it straight away. My 89 zxr750 got 96 hp on the same dyno that my 96 zx7r got 133hp (this bike is 793 with the M crank and drag cams). These figures were all done on the same dyno. Once I have it all togeather it will go to the same dyno for a good comparison as there is always talk about which dyno gives the most accurate reading. I think the comparison between a standard bike, a heavily modified bike and a WSBK will give everybody a good idea of what HP this is getting.
The bike is definately a WSBK but who has a certificate of authenticity ? ? ? I am not realy to concerned. The bike is ex team Bertocchi (my reciept is from this team....authentic enough?). I will find out after the superbikes have finished for the year history of the frame numbers and engine numbers. One frame is 97, one is 99. Engine is 97.
The bike was Ivan Clemmenti's but I didnt get the BITUBO forks and shocks. They put back the Factory ohlins forks and shock. My connection with most of this stuff is an ex WSBK and GP ohlins tech. He knows this stuff is factory equipment and not avaliable to the public. Forks were originally worth about $15k if you had to buy them.
Flat slide carbs are Magnesium with throttle position sensors. Clutch is SUTER (DRY). Engine has gear driven cams (beautiful piece of work).
Frames are hand made. Swingarms are hand made....I don't even want to know what these are worth. Every bolt is titanium. Triple clamps are factory......lots of yummy bits.
Here are some pics. Just let me know if you want a pick of a particular piece.
Can you attach multiple pics to this thing ? any help would be great. I'm just trying to attach 10 photos but can only attach 1.
regards
