Post by Saki »

G'day guys,
just spoke to Teamoto then about a new '06 636 basically $12,960, but he said another price drop came down today and it would basically be the same price including on roads!

nice!

'07 is due to arrive in April

You could have bought one for that here in Vic, ......just........, before the apparently additional incentive from Kawasaki, unless they have always had it up there, and are now getting desperate enough to move bikes to use it!!!!! :)

Now that the prices are in the public domain I can talk candidly. This is what I have been banging on about with regards to people asking hideous amounts of money for 2nd hand bikes in other threads. When new ones are so affordable, you either buy new, or want the 2nd hand one at a bargain price as an incentive!

So look at it logically. You can buy a new 06 636, for 13K ride away. Lets take out rego of say $500, stamp duty of say $500 (varies from state to state) Dealer delivery charges ($500) and that means you are buying a brand new bike with no kilometres or wear, with a full 2 year warranty for $11500.

That would make a used 06 worth @ $10, an 05 @ $9, an 04 @ $7.5 (older shape), an 03 @ $6.5, with low low low k's!!!!! Faark, hurts when they dump new bike prices doesn't it!!!!! And I'm being kind on those values I reckon too! If it were a choice of an 06 for 10 with klms, balance of rego, tyre wear, stamps and transfers, It ends up being the same as a newie almost anyhoo!!!

I hate thinking about this, it just makes my 6K nine look like the right money now rather than a bargain!!!

Just got official word - the price is not being further reduced; apparently there was a print error made in QLD and was a discount that was supposed to be for the Z1000, not the ZX6R.

Bugger!

Wonder if the rebate was being offered at different times to different states?

Sorry yes, the person you spoke to gave you the wrong information due to the mixup, but feel free to call them again if you want to check :)
