Lightbulbs

Post by Stereo »

I popped my lightbulb this morning.....

Ive seen a few bikes around with really white light, and I think the light on my bike was a bit yellowish making it look older... (I know! the vanity!) I want some of those superblue kinda lightbulbs....

Can you get them for an 03/04 ZX6R?

Take a trip down to supercheap auto. They have a range of bulbs for different applications. They're not cheap though. I think about $40-$50 for 2.

Just be careful with the wattage, because I tried fitting one a few years ago and it ended up melting the wires because it was too hot for the bike :?

I would check Repco or Auto barn as the guy's there seem to know what they are doing and use a known brand Navara ect.. Supercheap tend to use their own (Home Brand) and don't seem to last as long. 110km down a dark freeway with no lights is not the best way to find out. Once bitten twice shy.

...also been reported to melt the plastic the reflectors are made from IF you go to too great a wattage (which is illegal anyway)

ask the queen of lights
little blue light in the middle at the front
blue disco lights that shine on the road at night (but you can hardly see them they're not very bright)
flashing sparkly lights in my headlights
just got to find me a disco

ummm Stereo
the big cog wheel ..is usually the light adjuster
turn it one way and the h/light points up, the other points down

the globe?
don't know zactly about the 6
but the 12 (and my ol GeePeeX) has a plastic cover at the back of
the light(where the wires go in)
¼turn pops the cover off and you can see the globe
held on the back plate by a spring (curly thingy)
unhook the spring..and the globe falls out

reverse to fit new ..and DON"T touch the glass on the globe
with ya fingers (globe blows  ) use a cloth

hth

cheers
