well if getting run over by a car teaches you a few things (as much as i cringe inside) What i want is completely different to what i need.
I want all the goodies like the stuff on the 7r, however, i dont need them.
I need a bike that I can comfortably commute on, is good on fuel and insurance, however still got power..
The z750 seems to be able to cover all that, what it lacks, is front suspension adjustability and fairings (however ive ridden a naked bike before for a long time, and it's not so bad).
I believe it does 350km before the end of a tank, this true? or is it 350 til dry or 350 til light.
Anyone got a Z750 with a can or full system? how much fuel econ do you lose?
Whats the power like, am I going to be bored with it or does it really get up and boogie. Seeing i've gone from a 1000cc Vtwin, 750 inline four, now possibily going to a 750 detuned?
All this kinda stuff I'm interested in.
I'm not in a rush to buy, so i'm quite happy to wait for the right bike to turn up for me, ffs - theres a brand newie advertised in queensland as a insurance replacement. 9k brand new never ridden.
I learnt a very valuable lesson. It's nice to have a bike that can do 260+ kmph, however, you dont need it and you especially dont need it when someone decides to take your lane and knock you off, and considering i mainly do commuting, I'm not going to use it, and quite frankly, after seeing what can happen at 60-70kmph, i'm not interested in finding out what it can do at 200+.

Hey duane, the guy from RR said we could come and test ride any bike in his range if we give him a call first.... Why dont you give him a call and take one for a blat....
I recon they look the biz.... You can probably swap the front suspension with a 636 one without too much work.... They appear to be identical in size etc...

Hi Duane as a new Z750 owner all I can say is what a beaut ride
Last scoot was a ZXR 750 94 sore wrists on long hauls.
I have had all kinds or bikes over the years mostly full fairing but
appart from the Z750 the closest I had to another naked was a SV650
but being a V twin was totally different.
The Z750 is a great cheap bike but the components used seem fine
Have you ever seen the crap used on a hyosunggy
mate the componentrys complete shite!!!!!!! wont go there anymore.

can be changed & unless you are racing its acedemic.

When I bought the Hornet Duane, you may remember I really wanted a Z1000. I even considered a Z750, but the power sorta swayed me. From what I understand they are only 85-90 hp, and may lack a bit of grunt compared to the 7R. If a Z1000 were affordable Duane, In my opinion, unless you are vertically challenged, or not confident then the Z1000 would be the better bike. Similiar handling, braking, ride position, weight, but loads more grunt and horsepower.
While everyone on here will probably have kittens over this.....Try the Hornet before you buy a Z. If you can get past the Hornets conservative looks, they really are a good solid machine with good brakes, handling and loads of lazy fat bottom end torque with almost enough power to keep ya happy. If ya bought a 2nd handy with a set of pipes, the power would be perfect.
They are selling them for 12K ride away brand new at the moment, so 2nd hand examples should be reasonably priced.
