My Adventra today!

Post by swabio-ACT »

Well it was a bit wet today and on the way home.... I almost got bogged
in some mud

How you may ask.....! well this is what happened!

I on the way home i pulled off the side of the road a bit as some ass bandit was tailgating me and anyway i went around a guide post at walking pace

but it was sooooo slippery that the car slid sideways straight to the bottom of a drainage ditch (a big open one! freshly dug and made....)

initially i thought..... aaaah no probs, the adventra can handle this ..... so I started driving and turned to exit the ditch and got about a third of the way up it! before it bogged down.........

so into reverse...... back along where i had come along and then into Drive and off we go..... i think, aaaah momentum is all i need......so off i go again up the hill about 1/2 way this time!

So then i start thinking.....Right....... this is fucked.... it is pissing down, I am 1/2 wheel down in soft crapppy mud and my mobile phone is at home..... oh fuck,,,,,, i am gonna get wet tonight!

So anyway, I dide the same thing again..........reverse.... drive turn up the hilll......nothing, 1/2 way again.......so straight into reverse, get some momentum up the back side of the ditch, soon as it starts to bog down, straight into drive and floor it!

mud and shit going everywhere.....

then the front finally reaches the grass..... so a bit more grip than the clay......

and then the gravel shoulder of the road..... yes..... shit still flinging everywhere, fighting for grip.....

and finally we have bitumen under the front wheels, so some grip! and I am outta there!

So of course I had to check out the mess i made ;)

So off I went and did a u turn and then another one and parked on the verge of the road (only just!) and got out to check it out!

and to be honest I was pretty impressed with it! (and the car did ok too ;) )

It was a freshly made drainage ditch with almost two days of water in it! so uber soft!

and a couple of big ass tyre tracks all through it!

Mud and shit all over the car!

just wish it was not raining, so i could take a piccy! (I will on the way to work if it is not raining! - with my newly acquired 350D! )

So here i am thinkin, damn that was great!

then I thought..... thank fuck the wife is not in here! she would not have seen the fun side of it

So there is my Adventra story (the first one really in my fairly new holden Adventra!!)

heh, who gets to wash the car ?

for the car ludites (like me) google shows the adventra to be an awd holden station wagon, sort of like a gigantic subaru outback.
