And yeah SS, love Maiden, went to the Powerslave in briz when I were a lad.
And Duane, I tried myself (the sig) as I had to cut the pics down to get them in etc. and it was just too much hassle.
I will pick a better background etc. next time.
maybe we can get Strika to rename this the naked thread?
fAAARK Frogz.....Hows ya form!!!! I rename this friggen thread for ya, then you go and dissapear!!!! Anyone would think you worked for a living!!!!!

I spent a few minutes this morning doing the ring around to see who has what on special, and I was lucky enough to get hold of someone who had some RENNSPORTS still on the shelf!!!! I nearly wet myself with excitement!!!! I really really really liked the two sets of Rennsports I had previously, so am pretty pleased to get hold of another set. As an added bonus they are $450 Fitted!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D

So after lunch I am going to load the bike onto the trailer, and go get some new boots fitted, as step one in getting it Roadworthied and Registered! :)

ahh yes the age old tradition of getting a motorcycle roadworthy, to then take it back home and make it unroadworthy. It's an age old tradition that is kept going only by dedicated members of society like the valued KSRC member Strika.

God bless his soles (in his new boots)

Ahhh yes Duane,.......hence the reason I am hunting around for NEW NEW tyres rather than fitting my old race take-offs. I wanna make RWC as pleasant a process as one can make it while dealing with our finest staff members from VIC ROADS!

Edit- Just got back from what was supposed to be just a tyre fitting exercise. While there, I asked if the shop had a licence to do RWC's. Which they did, so I decided to leave it there, for them to do the RWC inspection tomorrow and pick it up thursday. Does anyone know how much lead time VIC ROADS needs to book an inspection for it to be registered???? I was hoping maybe to do that Friday, so I could have it registered for the weekend! Other than that.....anyone own a trade plate??????

It's ready to register!!!

Post by Strika »

Woohoo! Just picked it up with it;s brand new tyres on it, and a RWC certificate, ready to present to Vic Roads on Tuesday.

I got the tyres believe it or not from Peter Stevens workshop (now located up near Lexus at the top of Elizabeth st) and since it was there, against my better judgement got them to do the RWC. Being a franchise dealer I really was expecting them to come back with piddly bits of crap that needed doing and was justification to sell me some parts. Now I had checked it thoroughly, and As I used to prep used bikes for a RWC inspection I new what to look for, and was ready to fight them.

Much to my surprise, when I picked it up the bill was $450 for the tyres, and $50 to write out the RWC. Nothing to rectify at all!!! :D Happy daze.

So I'm all set to have it inspected Tuesday, and weather permitting take it out on it's maiden (to me) Voyage!!! :D

Well, tommorrow is almost upon us. You know, having a motorcycle sitting in your shed, with brand new tyres, number plates afixed, and completely roadworthy........except for actually being registered, is like having a naked and horny (insert the person/s who you wish to bonk the most here) next to you in bed, you can look, but you can't actually hop on and rev the tits off it in every gear!!!!!

Today I unbolted the old plates (they wanted to charge me $96 just to keep the original plates with it, so I just said I'd hand em in and get newies For 17 bucks or close to that) re-washed it as it got filthy dirty coming back from the RWC inspection as it was typical Melbourne weather, Pissing down one minute, torrential the next. Then rechecked all the lights and indicators, as well as starting it and warming it up to make sure it didn't do anything silly like drop it's fluids on the Vic roads driveway, or fail to have an indicator or light working, both of which mean...FAIL, and back to square one with another week or two's wait for an inspection!!!!

so hopefully all will go as planned and the bike will be registered around 11am!!!! :D

Over here, Prick Roads will pick you for mud on your wheel Neka!!!!!!

They are absolute bastards a lot of them. I reckon a lot were picked on at school, and their revenge is to hassle anyone who wants to register a motor vehicle!!!!!

As a Motor Dealer, I have had an almost Brand new car (52klms) knocked back for a windscreen, which didn't have a mark on it!!!!!! So if they wanna be a pain, they will!!!!!

As an aside, praise when it's due n all that.........The Vic Roads experience continued on from the pleasant girl over the phone, to a very nice guy about my age, who also rides, who inspected the bike in Hoppers Xing. He checked the numbers were correct, and that was it! Lurvely!!!! :D took ten minutes!

i was pretty lucky getting my 9R registered... did it at the sunshine office and the guy doing my inspection knew the guy who did all the work on the bike for me, so we basically chatted about him for a while and he didnt even look at the bike twice, despite it being mostly in primer with lotsa dents and missing the side fairings
