Wow I can't believe it's been over a year since this thread was posted in. Have you finished your renos yet? What about the bike?

Haven't done much lately. Was planning to get it finished at Christmas but got a letter in the mail saying that I had to get my deck certified so that meant spending cash on the handrails to get it done. Then the hot water system blew up, then thepool pump crapped itself, then the chemical system for the pool decided to give up as well. All that time and cash was going to go into a new set of fairing. I have been looking at a composites course at my local tafe so when I get some spare time, I'll do that.

Still waiting on my side stand but at least it's getting closer.

In the mean time I'm building a carbon fiber road bike to get to work on.

Question, how do you know of the jig is 100% spot on

That was my biggest problem when building it. The two 6 x 100 rails which hold the bottom bracket and the front and rear hubs were drilled together so I know they are all the right distances apart. I just bolted one to the frame and then lined up the other with some fishing line through holes drilled along the side. Once I was happy that they were right, I bolted the second one down. I then use a large aluminium square that I have made to measure in from one side only and duplicate that point up to the top. I then know at least everything is in the same plane. Probably accurate to about 1mm and that's fine with me.

I should have some carbon on the bike in a week or so. Just got to drop in the aluminium parts to get anodised first.

zx793rr, awesome bike and job that you've done!! In a post from a few years ago, you mentioned that you got an enduro tank with the bike when you got it and, from the pix, it looks like you've mounted the sprint tank... have any plans for the enduro?

The bike looks awesome hope I can get mine to that level one day, can you get a carbon tank for the M model as my alloy tank has a small ding but thought I might put it away for safe keeping. Does anybody know if the endurance racers had race kit alternator or were they total loss system ?
