Guys, I ride a 2005 z750, I bought it for 9 grand with only 6,000km on it. It has not given me any headaches, and provided me with plenty of grins. I commute to work on it everyday in sydney traffic, i couldnt tell you how far i get to a tank of fuel because i dont really care about how much i spend on it  .. If it gets me there it gets me there, if it doesnt then im screwed. The bike is great fun in the twisties of the old road and is not back or wrist breaking in traffic. I only have the stocker exhaust on it, but they sound great with a micron system. Turns plenty of heads and is a pleasure to ride. I was looking at the z1000 however its 1500 bucks less on insurance to have the 750 for me. You will read at http://www.riderforums.com about the nasty bar buzz they both get. It has a few easy fixes so not to worry.

I am very happy with my bike and its a FUN bike, it makes commuting to work everyday enjoyable.

All that said, im upgrading to an Aprilia Tuono at the end of the year, i have the naked bike bug and i test rode one, its like a motard on steriods!! ..

If you have any lingering doubts about the zed, post em so i can snuff them for you!

rocketrod wrote:Hi guys,
Im a newbie to this forum and am currently looking to buy a Z750.
Just trying to find out some pros and cons for the bike.
I personally reckon its one of the sexiest nakeds on the market.(especially the black jobby)
I used to be a kawasaki nut many years ago,ive had 2 Z1RS,one was a tricked up unit with a 1280 kit,2 gpz 750 turbos(new) a gpz 750 and the good old classic z650.Since then i have had numerous other brands,my last couple of bikes being 2 vfr 750s and a suzuki hayabusa.
Currently the only bike i have atm is an old honda transalp, but i am comming to the conclusion that you dont need hp to have fun. :)
I have just returned from an east coast trip on this bike(from melbourne to cairns)and just had the best fun. :D big grin.
I went and test rode an 02 zx12r the other night and yes it went like the clappers, but to me it wasnt that much fun to ride.Maybe i am starting to get old,but im realising that performance isnt everything.
What i really need to hear is some info from people who actually have and ride one of these bikes, not just the sales blurb.
Do you guys have a melbourne based group and do you get out for rides as i will be looking for other kawasaki nuts to ride with. :)
Ps im going out to floyd kawasaki in ferntree gully in the next couple of days to demo a z750 and i dont want anyone to tell me to buy the 1000,because ive decided the 750 will do fine.
They do say, once you ride black you never go back, which I agree with! I've got a red Z1K, I was told they were the fast ones, riderforums.com is a great place for information on Z1000s and Z750s, theres not much there that hasn't been disscussed.
Buy the 1000. You know you want to!!!!!

I considered a thousand, but to be honest i dont like the look of the 4 into 2 system and even though the thou looks similar to the 750 imho i like the looks of the 750 better, and of course there is the price thing.
I dont know if this is true or just sales talk but the guy from floyds told me that the 750 is slightly quicker off the mark, being a sleeved down thou motor he says it spins out quicker until the thou winds up.
If i wanted top end then i would have stayed with the busa or got the zx12.

Go smack that salesguy he's telling porkie pies... The thou accelerates just as quick as my 6 did, and that isn't slow :)

The thou is much better, it has more pretty bits :D

Maybe, maybe not, what do you base your opinion on?
Have you ridden the 750?
As far as looks,to me i still reckon the 750 is nicer, better looking wheels and as i said,i hate that 4 into 2 exhaust.
Anyway riders skills accounts alot for how well a bike goes, especially in the twisties. :)

good on ya
you will be stoked with it.

Enjoy the ride home.

what roads are you going to take to get home?
freeway, coast road, snowies?

The snowies would be an awesome way to go except its pretty cold there right now and supposed to snow this weekend so could be a bit dodgy in places.

nothing beats a road trip - specially on a new bike :D :D :D
