Check that the bolts in the frame cradle on right hand side of the bike are all there. I lost one and one was about to fall out- these were hidden by the radiator shroud on my carby model. Dunno about DAEG. Mine tried to kill me at 200km/h- magic figure and it would tankslap to buggery. Shat myself on more than one occasion. :shock:

I will check the info/tips mentioned; That bike never used to behave in such a manner at the beginning

The only mods I have done so far are a bigger MRA screen which may affect the steering at high speed? also had the original engine front mounts bolts changed on both sides to accommodate sliders. One addition that maybe cause wind drag/ movement at high speed is a Police siren mounted on the RHS by the slider?

Waiting for a quote form Hyperpro to change the front forks and rear shock springs...

I'd check your frame and swingarm bolts like Strika and Bonester suggested.

I was wondering why my bike became wallowy on one trip, then we realised I had lost two bolts out of the frame cradle and I realised the frame was flexing when cornering. The faster I went, the worse it felt; sound familiar? I have also heard of ZRX swingarms vibrating loose and having the same effect.

They are a big torquey engine that can shake the shit out of everything and they are notorious for bolts coming loose. It's worth going over everything and checking they are tight.

It's still worth doing the suspension, even if that is the cause. They handle so much better with upgraded suspenders.

Thanks Guys will check and re torque everything; I installed today a fork brace from a US manufacturer so hope that helps as well; one thing I had to remove the fork(s) seal protectors. What could I use instead?

If it's the Greg Couch fork brace, he makes aluminium protectors for them.

I've had that problem caused by tire pressures being to low. Maybe not your problem but it doesn't hurt to give it a try.

Hi Guys

Took the beast for a ride today, after checking all the bolts torque rating, installed fork brace, and it seems better. No much wallowing around 180km/h.. but with our roads here so bloody uneven, still want to install a damper. Been chatting with Greg Couch and hopefully can install his version.

Tyre pressures are good, running 34 front and 36 rear on Michelin Power Pure, corners very well.. :D

Those are the tyres I had a problem with. I had to raise the pressure up to 41 rear and 36 front. I loved them as they were so light but am now using Pilot Power II's.

How on earth did you get 12000k out of a set of pures on a Rex running 34 36?

I got 3000km out of my power pures...

They no longer make them. They have been replaced with power 3's

The pures have a very soft carcass, and will wiggle around a fair bit. I don't mind it wiggling.

The power 3's have stiffer carcass to combat this issue.

Try some new Tyres next time round.

Metzler M5's are a better tyre for the ZRX. After trying everything else, they are all I run on mine now.

I don't know about the cornering grip on the Pure's if I could have left the pressures lower but I could not get the wiggle out without having the tyre pressures too high for my liking. I keep my Pilot Power II's at 32 front and 36 rear and the dual compound seems to be fairly sticky in the twisty's. The Power Pures seemed to have way too much flex. I did like the light weight, however.
