There built for differnt things if you want a track bike go the 10 for road the 12.

Stu

thanks mate
and that basically what the mags said
(can't rememebr if it was BIKE or Ride or one of those)
the Zx10r is built for the track and will perform there like nothing else
( well maybe a Gixxer 1000)
but the 12r was seen as a better road bike and better at continent crossing

One very interesting comment is that Kawasaki is the only maker atm
with THREE hyper bikes.. Zx10r ZZr1200 and Zx12r
which they said makes Kawasaki the leading Hyperformance bike maker :D

i can only agree
GOTTA LUV the 12R!!

Ok, I was convinced before but I was just curious to other peoples opinions seeing both these bikes have simular HP, but power to weight ratios are so different let alone the torque it is difficult to envisage the performance between the 2.
I have sat on both bikes and my immediate impression is how tiny the 10 is, the 12 seems a lot more comfortable and simular in some ways to what my ZZR feels like, but that’s my personal opinion.
I might just havta trade down to a ZX12R but I need to think more on the subject $$$$

Thanks everyone

I like the ZRX 1200 I think it looks hard and sounds awesome with a good exhaust system. it has that old school stance to it and a really nice wide seat. If I ever want to grow up I would probably end up trading in my ZX-6R for one or maybe even a BMW R1200GS  HAHA got ya I was only kidding kwaks are the best :axe:

Scott,
I've had my ZX10R for 6 months now with just under 12000 kms on it. I'm 6'2" and am now 93 kilo (was 140 kilo when I took delivery of the bike!!). I use it as a daily rider and got 9000 kms out of the first set of dunlop 218 doing 2 track days.

I absolutly love this machine. My ZX 6 doesnt feel has as comfy seat but the 10R is a nightmare at night. The lighting is piss poor and even with brighter globes, its terrible!!

If you are worried about sore wrists, you'll get used to it, ie adjust your position, dont let things like that throw you off.

But then as everyone has said, work out your riding patterns and buy the one that fits best. The 12R just wouldnt let me do the things i want to do with a bike.

Good luck with your decision.

Cheers,

Kieran.

Thanks

I voted for the ZX 10, because of the little problem with height adjustment, that the 12 has. NONE....

One would expect a bike of that price to have everything!!!

Sorry.

Well I went against popular opinion, the ZX12R just feels right for me. Anyway there is no possible way I could ever get use to the power of either machines let alone use it to the max all the time. As it worked out I would have had to pay more for the ZX10R from my dealer, it seems they wanted me on the 12 in the financial end.
I have already clocked up the first 1000km since taking ownership at 11am sat morning.
It is being serviced right now, Iam extrememly impressed with it so far, much easier to toss into corners than the ZZR but the engine is still a little tight although at 800km's it gave up a bit more 8) And in another 600km's its open it up time

Cheers all, thanks.
