What oil in my GS500?

go to supercheap, castrol power1 if you want full synth, or castrol GPS (may have a new name) for semi synth

The GS is an air/oil cooled motor and as such will run at higher internal temps. I would still use Motul 5100 (I've used it in most of my bikes in the last 6 or so years as well as all the others above) but I would go the 10W/50 rather than the 10W/40 to suit yr old diesel twin 500!!!

bit the bullet and got the motul 5100 10W/50 in stock in the end 'cause i want to do it today
