Hey there...
It's certainly not the year of the Z1000 !! .. and i hope its not the Superstition thing because i owned a black cat and 2 black dogs
I've come to the conclusion she's temperamental, hates being left in the shed for more than a day and loves to be ridden hard.

Re: i think it's cursed...
He's behaving.. and I still get such a big kick out of the bloody thing
Not only riding it, but the attention it gets
It's going to Midtown to have a thorough going over, they are going to plug it in and look for an error code that will hopefully tell them why it stopped. I've also been told the power commander might have dropped it's map.. so I'll be getting it dynorun to check it. Physically, the green belly pan is at the panel beaters, it has the black one on now so he still looks hot
And they decided to give the apprentice only a warning. so I'm happy about that
But the sad thing is I think I'll have to sell it
My hip is so bad I simply can't ride it without suffering and having to pull out of rides
I'm going to have to consider something smaller and lighter with a narrower tank

Re: i think it's cursed...
tanya, you work at powercommander yes?
quick question..
07/08 z1000, i've heard that euro spec Zeds of that year can't get the PC3 to fully reprogram the ECU without getting an extra powercomander product called the 02 eliminator.. apparently PC3 doesn't work in the rev range below 3000rpm at all without one, and even then there is an issue with effected revs above 3000rpm with some sort of error..
now the US guys that have installed PC3's say thats rubbish and only Euro spec models are effected (well uneffected really) by the gains had by a PC3..
So... does it work the the Aus spec Zeds? or do we need the 02 eliminator also? and what is an 02 eliminator?
thanks!

Re: i think it's cursed...
I don't work for the aussie distributor anymore, but I did, yes.
Firstly, Power commanders don't actually reprogram your ECU. they're an add on, like an exhaust, it just tells the ecu to give different amounts of fuel.. you take it off and the ecu will just put back through the normal amount of fuel.
A properly programmed Power commander will affect your bike the whole time it is running, never mind the revs
Aussie bikes are Euro specs and If power commander tell you to fit an o2 sensor eliminator(they do, I checked), do it. they're cheap. I'm not sure exactly what they do (i know roughly), but they know a lot more than some crazy yanks who obviously don't know shit, I'd go by what they say.
Those yanks seriously need to lay off the drugs.. I have before and after maps of my bike before/after it was fitted and mapped and the difference it makes in how the bike runs and power output is quite noticable.
BTW If you buy one from O/S there will be absolutely no warranty on your PC3.
Is that info worth $60 posted? (and i don't want the suzuki
or the er6
)
