Looking back on it all, i think i just realised exactly why i dropped the bike, just thinking about it all.
When my bike goes in first (like ANY bike ive eer owned), the bike clutch plates stick, even when in neutral. This happens the very first time its engaged.
I THINK i may not have rolled the bike around in first with the clutch in as i know i rolled it out of the garage in neutral, SO following that, so when i first clunked it into first coming out of the driveway, BANG down she went like a sack of potatos.

It's all coming together, and now its an even sillier reason to go down now i think about it.

Mike,

Next time i stack, i need you to shop for me please.

BTW, all my bikes grab when they are cold as well, i am pretty sure it's because of a lack of oil around the clutch plates.

regards,

Julian

Firstly, why do you want me to do your dirtywork? :P
Secondly i think its a viscosity thing, when the bike is cold, excess oil would have been squeezed out of between the plates and sticktion keeps them together until you break the viscous bond (remember oil is thicker when its cold too) by either kicking the engine over or rolling the bike along in first with the clutch in.
