great idea......but....

WHY DONT THE BIKE MANUFACTURERS JUST MAKE THE MIRRORS WIDE ENOUGH SO YOU CAN BLOODY SEE OUT OF EM !!!!

They do, and they are commonly know as 'cruisers'/'chopper' and 'tourers'.

Not all bikes have small mirrors, some actually have good sized mirrors but ppl like to replace them with smaller aftermarket ones. I know you are probably not one of those, but there are different type of ppl around.

You are heading the right way to take a nasty fall young'un. The shoulder check is known for good reason as a " Lifesaver "

i do use it.

especially in peak hour sydney traffic.

but on highway when noone is around, a mirror check is enough and still do a side check naturally, i spose after thinking about what i actually do on the bike.

i'd try one on in the shop, and if it was ok, i'd give it a go.
seems a good idea to me, then i'll the able to see the crims comin up behind me...
then me pulling away from them again as they pull over to let me get ahead...

ppl must be told but, "just because you have a rear view mirrow in your helmut, you still have to do blind spot checks!!"

I got the same email from Nicola today

"Due to the huge demand created here in Europe, the helmets are not available in Australia just yet. We have appointed a distributor who are going to test for the Australian Standard Ansi 1698. Once we have this we will be able to introduce the helmets into the market.

Until the helmets comply with the Australian Standards they can not be shipped into the country.

They retail for around 400 Euros in Europe, but due to local taxes etc, we do not know the exact cost in AU dollars yet.

We have a mailing list to keep you updated of when the helmets are available

I will keep you posted once I have news.

I ride like a pigeon walks, with my head bobbing left and right and all over the place. I check over my sholder but I rarely get a surprise because I'm in those mirrors all the time.

This helmet looks like it would suit the MP3 set, so they can cruze along and concentrate better on the latest techno.

The website above is useless too, I opened 4 pages off it looking for a proper explanation of what the system is but all I got was more crap about "how good it is" and how "every one loves it"

yup..theres a reason we have a head that swivels around to cover 180degrees...

i reckon these could be a great idea on the track. imagine being able to run wide cause you seen that fucker closing in on you , forcing him to slow down....................

it would be handy to see behind you so you know if you can back of that we bit or is he dmn close

I did some research on these a while back too. and most of the reviews of sports bike users said they where almost useless due to the angle of your head being hunched over more. All you saw was the sky un less you raised your head. designed more for tourers I believe.
