I bought a Yamaha! Well I put a deposit on one anyway....

It's an 03 model R1 racebike, I am going Superbike racing!

From the ad:

Yamaha YZF R1, 2003 model, race or track bike, Ohlins suspension, Matrix steering damper, power commander, Mycron 3, plus other mods, spares including full exhaust system, fairings etc, levers, bars, rearsets, sprockets and more. Tyre warmers and race stands. Fast and reliable.

The guy I bought it off is a legend, I have been buying my used slicks from him, and he has given me lots of good advice (including stuff like "you aren't ready for this bike"

) The bike has cut some impressive laps with him on it, so I just have to learn to ride fast myself now, no excuses left. My good old brother is lending me the money, so a big thanks to him.

I really wanted to get hold of a 10R to run in superstock, but this came up at the right price. And superbike racing is just that much cooler (and scarier). But I still have the GPX to qualify me for KSRC member status. And no I am not painting it green. Orange maybe, but I am thinking white (current colour) with orange stripes / bits.

I just cannot wait to get on it and hold the bugger flat!!

I will be competing in the local Superbike championship. And yes I will need pitcrew personell. I would like to do a national round or two down the track, but probably won't have the money for it.

Nah I would have a couple of Tens if I had Johnno, and therefore would go quicker.

But no what happened is that my little brother loaned me the money, and will probably take the 7 as a deposit.

So to kill two birds and get stoned I got him on a Kwaka, and got myself on a Superbike at the same time. Will post some pics up in a sec.
