Hi everybody

Post by Trev zzr250 »

Hi I am new to riding… Only had my L’s for a little over 2 months…. Can’t wait to get my P’s so I can go faster.. (Doesn’t stop me)

I have a 2001 blue zzr250 and love riding it… Great around the track here in Bathurst corners really well.. Love riding the track at least once a week..

I am a newbie and going to go for my P’s in a month’s time….
How hard is it to do the NSW P’s test on a zzr250? I only hear about the U-turn as the difficult part.
I rode down to where they do the test in Bathurst and did about 20 u-turns only the first few I did where out of the lines, the rest where in by about 10cm to 25cm, got easier every time I when around..
Is that the hardest part of the test?? Love to here what other NSW riders have to say about the P’s test…..

Well hello to everyone and hope to make a contribute to these forums..

welcome to the club!

My grandfather went for his driving test. The driving instructor asked "Can u make a u-turn"?

My grandfather replied "I can make her eyes pop"!

G'day and Welcome Trev.

Mate, there's nothing too difficult about it. Practise your slow riding and your braking and you'll be fine. The u turn on a ZZR will be OK, it's really only the ZX2 etc and cruisers that cause some people grief but I've had plenty of students breeze through on them. Practise your general riding and the exercises you did on your L's course and you'll be pretty well placed. The test itself is points based so buggering one part isn't the end of the world either.

Give me a yell if you want some details on specific exercises you can do to practise before your course.

Cheers

welcome, people usually find the u-turn or cone weave the more difficult, but really, it's a breeze. Just remeber to headcheck!!

Hi Trev and Welcome..

When I did my test they just sent ya around the block and if ya made it back you got a licence..
My misses did it a few years ago and she had a gpx 250. She could do the turns but found it easier in the cb250 loaner bikes they had so she used there bike...
Lucky cause she dropped it and had to do the test again the next week..:-)

Welcome Trev.

Good choice of bike. Don't worry about the u turn. You'll make up the points in the cone weave, the zzr turns in like a dream. You'll be asking them to add another cone in each gap.
