Is anyone here a member of the MRAA? (http://www.mraa.org.au)
Is anyone a member in victoria and how are you finding it?

The world is round. It has no point.

I will own up....
have been a member since the mid 80's and been there
thru the bullshit and crap and takeovers and politics
and fights and personality rifts and other crap
I joined for the rides..and news (bike stuff etc)
thats all...
and have stayed a member for those reasons
I have stayed away from the infighting, the politics the power plays
and just keep watch of their news (they have some good stuff)
and sneak off and a ride with them ..now and then
They have lost their position as a REAL player in Victorian biking
not helped by the govt introducing the VMAC
although the media will do a grab from them, if sumfing is newsworthy
from what I see, the MRAA have settled down and are starting
to copy what NSWMCC is doing ...about bloody time after being off the rails for the past few years
I am sure there are those who will bag the MRAA (or Netrider or Ulysses)
for being ineffective or meddling or stoopid.....
but I do think we need a representative body in Vic
so
the question I have (and have not asked the board) is where they wanna be in 5 years, 10 years? in the meantime, I will watch their news and
sneak orf on rides...
hth
cheers
GOTTA LUV the 12R!!

Re: MRAA membership...
I was a member when I first starting riding, but unlike Yoda, lost heart when they were ripping themselves apart with the infighting and never returned. Sad really.StereoHead wrote:Is anyone here a member of the MRAA? (http://www.mraa.org.au)

I will join the Ulysses Club this year, not because I have the urge to be a Ulyssian, nor to confirm I'm an old fart, more to enjoy a sense of community along the lines of this Club. However, I'm a bit wary as I've heard some of the clubs in country Vic are outposts of accountant Harley Riders posing as Ulyssians, and as a rider of a fine machine of Japanese heritage, I don't want to go there, or mix with their ilk.
