GPZ600R???

Post by Alf Stewart »

I've come across a cheap 1985 GPZ 600R, pretty rough condition in the looks department. Looks like most the fairings there. Apparently ran before being parked up, don't know much else about it.

What I wanna know is would it be worth picking up? Look like it would need a decent amount of love. They worth much or sort after at all?

Think I'm developing a bit of a bike kawasaki addiction....

I think the ZZR600 is nicer looking. Cheapies about too.

I agree with you on that one. Might give this one a miss, plus the missus isn't keen on this one and her judgement hasn't let me down yet.

If any ones needs it or parts, seller is asking $250. Happy to pick it up for some one and post parts or whatever.

Just finishd one of these and it wasn't cheap and they aren't worth a lot completed (south of $3K). Only worth nostalgia as the first of the 600's.

With this old bike even good example can cost $$$$ :(. I wouldn't invest too much money unless it has some real value like z1's

They are a future classic but not now - Z1's were worth jack 15 years ago. How patient do you want to be? They are an easy resto now because the parts are still around. And they are a great ride and you can use them everyday (after adding a manual fan switch to deal with typical GPz hot running).
