Excuse me for not Introducing myself!

Post by 03ZX9RNinja »

Hi KSRC members,

Names Brad and have been a member for a while but with another login (not sure what happened with the old login?), but thought that I should introduce myself before I start blabbing on in this forum.

Been a Kawasaki fan for some time, a 1979 KL250, which started it all off. This was my first bike and one that I got my learners on, so I'm old! Had many a fun time riding this bike as far as I could with a mate on his Z250.

I then migrated to a Z750 L2, another great bike, with the exception of the handling when pressed, but light and forgiving in comparison to the other models of the day. Dropped it many a time, but the worst thing that happened to them was bending the handle bars and replacing the crash bars, which got installed after the first off, engine cases and mufflers are expensive as I was soon to discover. Remember once or that could be twice, hitting a pot hole and it just about spat me off whilst lent over under power. Fixed this with a set of Koni's, oil cooler and a 4 into 1. This improved the handling, ground clearance and the sound too. After that I brought a motor from a wrecked GPZ750, the first of the GPZ, with the intention of adding cams and porting the head, etc. But never got there as the motor was really nice and the power was adequate for the chassis. The thought was to then update the forks and brakes but this never eventuated. Think one of the main factors could have been cash as I was also racing a TZ350 back then, so my memory may be incorrect, LOL! That's the good thing about racing, you never have big enough pockets!

Then there was the thought that I could live without a road bike and sold the lot. This lasted for about 6 months from memory and then I decided that I need a 1989 ZX10. Another great bike that could cruise all day 2 up, and was quite capable of exceeding the speed limit without a lot of effort. I remember a few times that I would be reminded that this was the case.

I then progressed onto a 1999 ZX9R, a 2002 ZX9R and the current bike a 2003 ZX9R. As you can tell I do like the ZX9.

Thats it for me on the introductions, ride safe all.

The blue one you currently have. It looks a lot like the one Rod owned, which he sold to John and then bought it back, only to tidy it up again and then sell it again. It was the tidiest ZX9 I had ever seen.

To the best of my knowledge I am the 3rd owner. Was sold by stevo's in 2004, then to the bloke that I brought it off. He didn't ride it much cause it vibrated to much and was planning to buy a Harley. It had done just over 16000 Km when I got it about 3 years ago. Now its up to 54000 km and its still going strong. 02 bike got sold with 95000 km's on it and was still running great when sold.

Just incase you want to turn Blue into Tiger Mica I have complete factory fairings and tank in pretty much pristine condition, only thing I don't have is the front guard .Tiger in my opinion was always the best color

Ok Make me an offer ,for Tank, front cowl side fairings tail piece and belly pan.I don't want to split the set but if its a reasonable offer considering these are not aftermarket knock offs im happy to move them on. ;) I also have a seat cowl as well.

Nope, after market, not sure of the brand. Think that they came painted and striped. That was the thing to do back then, put a bikini fairing on it!
