Further on the mighty GPZ

Post by javaman »

Is it Gee Pee Zeee or Gee Pee ZED here ?? :P

Front forks and rims all flakey

Tyres completely gone at 3,500km  . I used to do 6,000 - 10,000km on the 600s

Hopefully a dual sport tractor tyre will last a bit longer

Latest pics. Let's say it's 90% complete. I need to rebuild and paint the calipers 8)

Not sure how I feel about those knobblies on a GeePeeZEDD*, but you say they are okay on the road? Interesting!

The wear on the front tyre looks to me (I'm no expert) that it's been run underinflated? 3500 kays on a front is just-not-right...

I'm loving the bike!

* Leave the ZEE bit to the seppos!
Thank fuck it's not a GPh!!!

GeePeeZED it is :D

The rear knobby I have absolutely no complaints. It's awesome.

The front... well the first time I rode it I nearly ran wide on a roundabout  . Like someone had stuck a gyroscope on the forks!

But halfway through Reefton all is good and I was going through at 90% of my usual pace. The 10% might just be in my head.

Must be something going on there- got well over 10000km on the front of my GPZ9 and it still has heaps to go. Currently has about 5000km on rear and I've calculated using calipers that it should JUST get to 10000km. Mine is the 16 inch front model and different rear too.
