What to Buy - Z800 or Z1000...???

Loved the 6 but just a little too uncomfortable for my screwed up shoulder so its gone to a new home.

Sat on a few bikes the other day and the ones that seem ok are the Z800 and Z1000 (and the street triple ).
Didn't ride either but did prefer the seating posi on the Z800.

Any thoughts or other options.?

mt 09 or gsxs1000 are alternatives. both quite upright and lighter than the kawas.

A mate of mine had a MT09 he has a bad back and he sold it and bought a GXXS 1000 and is as happy as with it if that's any help.

The Mt09 is pretty much like riding a dirt bike on steroids. Very comfortable riding position but the seat is narrow. Shitloads of fun though. If you're only doing day runs I would highly recommend it. My backs not the greatest but it's OK on the MT although admittedly not as good as on the ZRX. Leg room on the MT is really good and wheely potential is awesome. It is a bike that wants you to fang it though so license security is an issue

Suspension is shite so whilst they are relatively cheap you would need to spend some bucks on suspenders.

If you want to take one for a blat by all means rock over and we can go for a spin.

If I only had one bike and wanted something that did both what the ZRX and MT do I'd probably go the Z1000.

I've had a Z800 for about a year now and love it. Yep it's a bit heavy when parking it on slope and seat height a fraction high for me ( 5' 7" in old talk) but option to lower it exists. It came with free Rizoma kit which tricked it up. Take both for a test ride before you buy. All the best with whatever you buy.

Yeh, the weight of the Z800 is a bit of a worry 10kgs more than the Z1000...
Wonder why that is..

The MT is interesting so is the Street Triple (prefer the Trumpy of those 2), but want to stay green, so may be on the look out for Z1000..
or check the Suzi, BMW, KTM etc..... or just look at what I can afford - whatever is cheap....
