Looking at this beast....

Post by vanrootn »

So I'm looking at this beast, I think its a 75 kh100?

http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/adelaide ... 1080378575

Any 2stroke experts on here?

Just wondering what you guys think of his explanation for it misfire?

He seems to think its a problem with the coil? Does this sound legitimate?

Would this be an easy fix for someone only partially mechanically minded? Are parts easy enough to come by?

Thanks in advance for any help - I'm keen to get back on a bike for giggles 8-)

I'm no expert, but I have heard of coil insulation failing and giving problems when warm.

I'd get that! Even if the local dealers won't help, those bikes are very popular in the UK so you could get anything you needed from a place like Cradley Kawa there...

yeh these old dungers can get issues with the pick-up coil in the magneto. Not that difficult to fix if you know your way around and can take the magneto rotor off the bike to get to the bits that need fixing ?

Fun little bikes, put an expansion chamber on that and you will embarrass some bigger bikes ;)

Lots of fun and learning ahead - after a quick ride I think my problem is fuel/ carb related not electrical which is fine!

Just waiting for my workshop manual and the work can begin

Cheers guys - I'll probably be here for some advice soon enough haha

Its pretty neat apart from the tank and both sets of controls need replacing...

Going to tidy it up and keep it stock for putting to work and back :-)
