Has anyone, who has owned a 05 zx10r had any gearbox faults in the past

Yep, lost 2nd gear, had it rebuilt (incorrectly) which then caused it to loose 3rd gear a while later. Then had all the gears undercut and rebuilt correctly and was fine.

This was on a race bike using a quickshifter though, so damage is more likely to happen...

Yep. Wouldn't change into 6th at Redline. Sold it fault known. No idea what the issue was

Yep, made a noise and then wouldn't change gears, so was stuck in 3rd. When I slowed down coming back into the pits, it then let me change back down gears. Swapped engines, so I haven't looked to see what the problem is, but it's likely to be the selector.

To elaborate on mine. It was a roady that did a few track days here and there and it was really well looked after. It had 20,000 klm's on it when it started playing up at Phillip Island one year. On the road it was fine, never had a problem. On the track first lap was fine, second lap you couldn't get sixth, third lap you couldn't get fifth. Then you'd slow down to come in the pits and everything was fine again.

Ride it on the road at normal spirited road speed and it was fine.

It was weird
