1986 GPZ 1000 RX

Post by old tom »

Bike ready for the road this one has been stored in shed.It was a good find just need a good service.
Bike was sitting around for awhile,so I replaced all wheel bearings, brake pads,Brake/clutch master/slave cylinder seals and fluids,plugs/leads/caps, couple of seals.Every thing electrical worked fine, except fuel sender still on the hunt for one of these.

looks great ! what is the go with the seat ? They are a 2-piece item normally......looks like an upholsterer has done a number on yours at some time ?

Nice machine mate !

I resprayed one of those for my brother back in 1990. It looked bloody unreal too. All bodywork and tank got the full treatment in Standox 2 pac base coat system. The 2 pac clear was glorious stuff when it went on.
All decals were still available from our local Kawasaki dealer, Kawasaki territory in Parramatta and so all new genuine decals went back on. Re did all the pin striping myself too.
He later sold this for a Suzuki GSX-R J model ('88). Another awesome classic !
