So does the CDI allow you to adjust the advance throughout the rev range?

My CDI is not user programmable so I cannot adjust the curve. I just have multiple to choose from. If you wanted a programmable unit you'd have to go for the Dyna or the other Czech one (I can't remember the name of it ATM).

Did the carbs go on at the same time as everything else? I take it you went from basically a stock bike with a Kerker and jetting, to a 1224, Yosh cams, new exhaust system, carbs and ignition tuner. I bet it feels quite a bit different to ride....... and will surprise a few guys on their sportsbikes.

Carbs only just went on, along with some new masters and wheels I started out with a completely stock bike. First step was pods, jet kit, and the Kerker. Then I did the 1224 with cams, new exhaust, and ignition. Carbs are the latest addition. Next is clutch and suspension.

Oh, and it already surprised some guys on their sportsbikes God knows what it'll do now

If you are happy to share, did you deck the head or run a thinner head gasket as well as the high comp pistons, or keep all of that at stock spec? If if you did change heights, do you know what squish and valve clearences you are running?

I did not deck the head or remove/thin any of the gaskets. I know I could gain some more compression by removing the base gasket but I didn't see the need. I'd rather have that little more clearance than running a higher CR.

Also, was there any porting of the head, valve's cut, or valve springs and retainers changed while you were at it? If so, was it CNC'ed or done by hand, done locally or sent to the US? Was the block done locally too?

At the moment the head is stock with the exception of the cams, ZZR valve springs, and ZZR rockers. I have a spare head which will be sent to a company in Japan for the full monty, but need to update my suspension first and the head work will not be cheap (think on the same order as new suspension...both ends ).

The block and pistons I got through APE. You'll be hard pressed to beat the exchange system they have setup. I also have a spare block sitting at home that could potentially be used as a core swap

Mate that's some nice numbers getting outta that thing. Love the headers also. Not a fan of the muffler though. What carbines you got on it. Sounds the goods on the dyno.

Yeah mate definitely. That's one thing I love about the Rex the different styles of mods to make it your own are endless. Which I love. I can't wait for tax time to pick up a polished Brock's street meg for mine.

Postage of the kit from APE ran about $150 if I recall correctly. I ended up sourcing a spare block in the US and got them to send it to APE for me. Saved me a little on shipping that way, and I ended up having my original as a spare
