Suspension set up zx14r

Post by Profab »

Hi guys,
I'm new to the zx14r bike and this forum,
I just purchased a 2012abs model.
I need advice on suspension set up.
I'm 95kg and 177cm tall.
At the moment the bike seems to have all the standard settings in the compression and rebound settings front and rear, the front sag was 15mm and rear was 22mm.

What do you guys think is a ball park setting?
Thanks Joe.

mate your best bet is to take it to a suspension workshop and get them to do the basics. Terry Hay or Frank Pons can do this for you.

Go online and check for Sport Rider magazine or Cycle World. They publish their best set up for all the bikes they test. It's as good a starting pint as any. My 14r was a bit soft out of the box. Probably a bit stiff now for the potholed tracks that masquerade as roads here, but I prefer it harder than softer.

the ZX14R is great straight out of the box.
There are some online vids with regards to setting up the sag.
Or you can go full setup like found here a ZX14.
