Haven't quite made it to the Sportsbike Category!
Hi all,
Looks like I don't quite fit into the "sportsbike" category but hey my new ride keeps me on my toes.
Just upgraded from a 2009 Vulcan 900b to a brand spanking 2014 Ninja 1000 ABS. (With integrated Panniers).
I have been back on two wheels since 2010 after taking an extended break to look after the finances whilst raising the kiddies. Have a decent commute to work from Kurrajong to Eastern Creek (NSW) every morning so getting plenty of kms up very quickly.
Living out near the Putty rd gives me plenty of opportunities for a nice ride when the weather is behaving.
I shall now go and peruse the forums some......

Welcome aboard..
Theres plenty of ninja 1000 owners on here, and they certainly fit into the sportsbike category, especially the way they are ridden..

Gday Pat
Welcome aboard mate
Nothing unsportsbikely about the Ninja 1000 mate. I reckon they are a sensational bike. I'm staring down the barrel of perhaps having to commute to the city each day so I might be looking for a bike and the Ninja's at the top of the list.

Re: Haven't quite made it to the Sportsbike Category!
Hey all.
Thanks for the warm welcome. I only noted I didn't fit into the sports bike category as there is no "Thread" for the Ninja 1000
Having an awesome time on it to be honest. Definitely the best bike I have ridden. (Not that I have ridden all that many). With only 1500k on the clock I haven't yet turned off the TRC but it does like to flicker under acceleration in first and second gear. I am one to learn a bike before I start pushing it at all so I am sure I will get to that one day. On the track, of course!
ABS on a bike, not sure that I am as keen as some, I prefer a little more controllable stopping power but hey, I am sure when all you have to do is grab everything and pray it certainly does take some of the pressure out of that situation. Hmmm I was only considering nice dry conditions!
I look forward to getting involved. Riding is my enjoyment well earned but a little harder to get the time to do then I would like.
Cheers
Pat

Re: Haven't quite made it to the Sportsbike Category!
I had the same Delemer when I sold my ZRX1200 & got a Ninja 1000 ABS, though its not naked, & yet its brother is, so I didn't know where I belonged either. But before long I was finding it didnt matter where I went I was welcomed. Im sure you will be welcome anywhere on this site. So just look around & enjoy, there are get people on here, & many friendship's have been forged. Oh the Ninja is plenty sports bike/touring bike believe me..
