2 Down

Post by furball »

Top day for a ride so went for a squirt up The Putty yesterday.(Mon) 1st half was the usual knob heads in their tin tops totally oblivious to the world and those around them when I stopped at the Colo servo and in rides a Thai dude on something cleverly disguised as a Christmas tree. WTF?
Too many happy endings for this guy.

A couple of Ks past The Grey Gums I round up a Multiple strata title thingy and his Mrs on what looked like a rideon alien spacecraft?
A smidge later Mr Strata is up me, so being the obliging fellow that I am, it's on for young and old,, Literally! Warp speed here we come!!
I m fuggin lovin this and near shittin myself at the same time. I riding with eyes the size of dinner plates.
After a while I wave him to pass, but he looks down and shakes his head. Is he saying No or just can't believe the way I ride?? The later I think.
We get closer to civilisation and the reality kicks in that the cops will just shoot at us as we whistle past rather than take chase so we slow and he stops, I guess to wait for the space shuttle.

Wollombi and the road to Kulnura is closed at the pub. Now this could be good thing or a bad thing,, but a smart arse Harley rider tells me that some poor unfortunate Pajero driver has left the road and met his maker. After a mandatory ale and an influx of holiday makers who didn't know where they were in the first place and didn't have a clue where to go next, the place was turning into a freak show so it was off to The Bulga Tavern where I was the lone soul toasting a smoother transition into the next life for the Pajero driver than the way they left their last.

It felt kinda weird going back the way I had came. Like riding The Creek backwards as I normally only go the one way.
It's not long before the urge kicks in again and the pace picks up as more corners are introduced.

After a couple of Ks and rounding a nice lefty there on the side of the road was the same Multiple strata thingy I had encountered earlier in the day, looking Very second hand and minus it's pilot. 'Holy shit' I thinking as I check it out.
Looks like he carried too much speed into the corner and ploughed straight into the Armco. The bike's gone down the fence then bounced back onto the road.
I' de say he's gone bush. It feaked me out when I looked at the photos when I got home and there's the bike in the fore ground at the pub,, un known to me when I took it!

So remember boys and girls, you can flog your nuts off at the track but those big metal things out on the road Will Fuck You Up.

Spotted the smart arse Harley boy at the Colo servo as I went passed. Slowed and gave him the finger. :finga: Made me feel better!
