Kawasaki People are Awesome

Post by laidback »

JUst back from my road trip to pick up the ZRX engine.

Brett the seller is a Kwaka fan and we got talking on the phone about the ZRX motor and he asks what I'm putting it in ao I tell him.

He said he nearly put it in a Z1 along with the suspension from the ZRX - the reason he bought it for.
He asks me what bikes I have so I say a ZX9 and he counters with a Z1 Jaffa (fully restored) and another one as well as the one he has modded with the ZRX suspension.

So back and forth it goes and we were getting faster by the minute...you know how it goes.

Anyway I was going to go over to Tassy to collect motor but I couldn't get my van on the ferry as all the 'high' spots were booked out until next year.
Of course this pisses me off as I am very anxious to get riding...hehehe The other problem was that I would have to put my bestest buddy in a kennel both ways and that would have pissed him off somewhat.

So I rang him and offered him a couple of hundred if he would deliver to Melbourne, as well as paying his fares which I would have had to pay anyway.
He agrees and tells me he still has some of the ZRX bits that he didn't use on the Z1 and would I like them.
Does a one legged duck swim in circles....

He arrives off the boat this morning with my motor complete with carbs, radiator etc.
He also has the tank...and the ducktail...and the FRAME...and everything else that he didn't use on the Z1.

Great guy to talk to and we had a chat for a bit and then I headed home chuckling like a fool all the way.
Ralfie is very smart...he obviously thinks I'm fkn mad.... :kuda:

Most likely. I'd say most Kawasakis would use the same one. The ZRX and the ZX10 were the exact same.

Wow what a deal. Sweet paint scheme that one. :) I have ZRX envy. Quite a few parts you could sell to offset the engine purchase there!!!
