Fred
I'd say they've gone for a ride and nothing's happened.

Why doesn't a Queensland member start a thread. Document every motorbike ride they go on for the next month
with where they went, what they were riding/wearing and what police interaction took place.

So we'll get a real world experience instead of a bunch of guys speculating.

I know a Queensland copper stationed at Coolangatta, who lives at Byron Bay and rides a Triumph Thunderbird 8)
Talking to him a couple of weeks ago, he reckons the average Joe has nothing to fear from the new laws. On a cruiser you might get stopped and checked out, but once they find your not associated with the 1%ers, they will back right off. Riding a sports bike you won't even get a second glance.
Basically, it's a back door way of the coppers to target the 1%ers, cause currently there are too many loopholes in the laws, which allows them to slip through the criminal net.

Nothing in the VLAD Bill about bikies. Sure they are going to use this to fix the bikies. Then the pedo rings. Then the crime gangs. But then it gets a little vague where that stops. It can be just about any association with anyone who commits a serious crime and is supported by the association. And the definition of association is VERY broad. Google it and read the Bill.

About the only thing saving KSRC in Qld from a lot of attention is that we don't ride together anymore.

Dave!
Just interested to know have you or any of your mates been targeted yet? And if so how did you deal with it? In fact has any of the KSRC in Qld been targeted yet?

I might add You blokes on the mainland's are doing it tough you poor buggers. I got pulled over yesterday by a female bike cop while I was out on the Blaster. She wanted to know if she could come on the next ROT ride to Strathgordon, checked out the B2 which she liked and warned me there was a speed camera trailer up the road. The sky still hasn't fallen in on us down here just yet so I will just keep riding till I hide back in the hen house.

Herrr Nuemann and his sidekick Corporal Beljii an under experienced article clerk are smoke screening the other nasty things they are doing up here 16,000 public service jobs gone workers compo changes just waiting for the $2000 third party changes  I didnt vote for him and I will encourage everyone i know not to.
Police presence is up but have not been pulled over yet but I suppose you guys get the same attention at the usual spots as we do?? So I just find a new play ground and there's plenty to find while they are all concentrated on the usual spots. The Plan ATM is to notify them of a ride and not go that way  Apparently the 000 hot line has been jammed this morning since its such nice riding weather :kuda:

16,000 public service jobs, the number gets larger each time someone says it. What a lot of b/shit! The compo changes were to stop some wankers double dipping (ripping off the system) cant really sympathise with them on this!
As for the new bikie laws, it may actually take some heat off sportsbike riders, as they will be targeting others. I don't know anyone that has been pulled over in Qld on a sportsbike since these laws were introduced, anyone???

the only bullshit is what you dribble, the actual target is 20,000. So yeh the numbers will get bigger because that's what Herr Newman has planned. Read about it here for some informed comments.

More uninformed dribble. The compo changes go much further than stopping people double-dipping - that is just one small part of the overall axeing of decent effective compensation cover for poor buggers injured at work because their bosses don't give a fuck about workplace safety. So not only should you sympathise with them, you want to hope like hell that you never suffer a workplace injury and need expensive rehabilitation for a few years. The govt will just tell you to fuck off....

Maybe it will..........maybe it hasn't made one iota of difference at all. The point is, the new laws are about as fascist as you can get without actually just rounding up everyone on a cruiser/HD and throwing them in jail simply for riding a specific type of motorcycle.

a copy and paste from someone in law who is looking closely at this

"I wish to draw to your attention the following article written by barrister Anna Cappellano, breaking down the implications of the new VLAD legislation.

http://www.guestlawyers.com.au/index.ph ... ciate.html

As detailed in the article the new mandatory sentencing provisions (15 years jail) apply to ANY club or association, with devastating consequences for a member who may inadvertently 'step out of line.'

I would ask you to share this with all your club members and contacts, as the Government is misleading in saying it only applies to 'bikies'. The legislation clearly applies to all."

Nice Dutchy!

In my three years here in Tas, I've been stopped once for a breath test. That was Christmas last year. Since then, I think I've had maybe two radar guns pointed at me. That was driving my car.

No HWP, no covert hiding cops with radars. Just clean, empty, sweeping roads on which you can enjoy yourself.

Might be worth a trip team.....

Storm in a tea cup, whole lot of hot air and bullshit. As the saying goes lay down with dogs come up with fleas, want to hang round questionable people this will happen. That is why I never ride with cyclists :kuda:

On a serious note, if people had to pay for their own workers comp, their would be half the claims. If you are seriously worried about being injured at work due to dodgy bosses, leave! If you choose to continue to work you choose to do so. Don't blame others for your choices. Personally I have both life and income protection, I am not relying on others to save my arse.
