Citylink toll's
Hi guy's!
Just got told that from next year bikes will have to pay Citylink toll's. Looks like my new flip up number plate will come in handy when I visit your fair city!

Bummer for riders that use CityLink...except of course for those with flip up plates
.
I mostly use Eastlink and bikes have always had to pay, albeit half price.

One good thing about being a country bumpkin is that I don't mind paying tolls.
Small price for better driving conditions...mostly.

Re: Citylink toll's
I dont have a problem paying tolls on Citylink.. having got travel for a number of years free.
the interesting bit is that they can toll bike travel using cameras facing from the back.
Guess they could teach a thing or two to the clods in the Greed camera office at Vicpol
who continue to spew the words.. bikes need front plates coz we cannot shoot pics from the rear

Re: Citylink toll's
I checked my Eastlink statement and it's close enough to half price. eg $1.52 v $0.77 for the same bit of road.mick_dundee wrote:Bikes are half price on Eastlink? I thought same price as cages??

Re: Citylink toll's
I knew the tolls were coming up, from hearing it from others, as well as the signs across the freeway in anticipation.
What I didn't expect was to come home tonight to find a Late Toll Notice in the mail because I failed to register my bike with Shittylink as directed in the communication they allegedly sent to me three months ago - I received no such communication (unless it looked like advertising that I may have recycled). Regardless, it can't have been too much of an effort.
I would have thought with their technology that allows them to track your address to send you a Late Toll Notice, that they'd also be able to look up your account to charge it to that - too much to ask perhaps?
Well, after reading further down the COMMUNICATION THEY SENT with the Late Toll Notice, out of the goodness of their hearts, if I call them and register my bike with them before the due date, they will "as a gesture of goodwill" waive all the administration fees ($11.79) and just charge me the tolls I owe ($3.41 for one trip). Nice of them. Lucky I read that, otherwise I was gearing up to get nasty.
Sad part is, this is for a trip on Feb 11 and I know I've done a few more since then. Just have to make sure (when they answer the phone, as I've been on hold 15 minutes already), that those don't also come with an admin fee, and hopefully will be all cleared up when I register my bike.
Bunch of GREEDY turds, I hate them.
Thanks for listening
