408HP ZX12R Turbo
From Australian bike builders Extreme Creations,
there seems to be a lag before it screams its head off, almost like wheelspin? can anyone explain what would cause this?

Looks to me it's when the boost controller starts bleeding off the excess boost.

Re: 408HP ZX12R Turbo
It's a massive turbo, it spools up quick then once it hits the desired boost it smooths out.

Re: 408HP ZX12R Turbo
The owner of the 12 had a Mr. Turbo kit fitted, making over 250 HP but he wanted to do landspeed stuff & his goal is to do 400 km/h so he asked Ben (Mr. Extreme Creations) to build him a 400+ HP motor... mission accomplished I'd say !
The engine internal specs read like a who's who of high performance component manufacturers & all the turbo manifolding & plenum chamber was done in house by Ben - it's a SERIOUS engine as you can see.
Imagine what it would be like to ride !!

Re: 408HP ZX12R Turbo
It'd be a big pussy cat untill about 3000rpm.
Then farrrrrrrrrrk!
It wouldn't drive properly untill 6th gear. The rest would be wheelies and burnouts

Re: 408HP ZX12R Turbo
Awesome setup , It more than likely is the Muzzy 1317 block for strength to make them numbers amongst other things , saying that you would need a serious set off balls to give it everything .
PS it maybe having a bit of boost "spike" to cause what its doing on the dyno.

life starts at 200 kph!

2003 model and brakes only slow ya downWattie wrote:And the early model 12 brakes too.shadowzx9 wrote:And Stock brakes.....

Turbo Busas get 300-500hp regularly, and is a lot easier to achieve than with 12R's
