I don't have a manual and need some info please!
I have a Gumby ('06 ZX-10R) and some time ago, some muppet who did my roadworthy advised me that "In order to pass the RWC conditions I had to soften your suspension setup." At the time a accepted that information but now that I have my licence back and am trying to get my mojo back on the twisties, my front is bounciing way too much, so much that I had a 'sphincter-tightening moment' when hitting a sweeper. Tyra (my bike) nearly bounced me of the side of the road! Basically I want it back how it was so I read War and Peace aka the 'Suspension adjustment and worksheets' thread and want to know which way to turn the dampening and compression to increase and which way to decrease them and how many clicks there are in total. Once I know this I will start experimenting at my own risk.
Thanking you in advance,
King Nicholas.

In makes it tighter (more
Damping) and out makes it looser(less damping)

To work out how many clicks, count how many to takes to go all the way out. Then you know where you were then count how many there is all the way back in
Forks have about 20 compression clicks and 15 or 20 rebound clicks I think?
Rear is similar I think?

Maybe Robracer or Blurr can take a snap of that page in their owners manual

If you search something like 06 zx10r suspension setup you'll get heaps of suggested settings and probable the stock settings as well. Not a bad idea to start by setting sag when sitting on the bike, then put it back to stock settings on everything else and go from there...

I'm going to try to find a manual online. Once I do I'll put it back to it's original settings and maybe change the rebound a click or two. Then I'll test it and see how it goes.

Re: I don't have a manual and need some info please!
I found a manual online and set it back to factory settings. I know the preload was adjusted for an 85kg rider so I didn't bother with the sag. I went for a big, twisty ride with a rider's group in Newcastle and made 2 adjustments, both made a remarkable improvement. I am going to make further adjustments and go riding again this weekend. It is really interesting to see the difference it makes but there are so many variables. The road surface makes a difference and the roads in NSW are atrocious, so to the rest of the country I say, "You don't know how good you have it." Everyone has a different opinion, which is interesting and I do not mind, as long as they explain themselves in detail. It is fun feeling how it works or doesn't work.
