Hey guys,
Just wondering if anyone knows about any free bike parking in Parramatta, around George St would be best.
Any help would be great!
Cheers

Re: Parking in Parramatta
I was told by one of the parking inspectors that as long as the bike is parked legally they won't book you for not having a parking metre ticket displayed on your bike, because there is no where on a bike to display it where it won't either be blown off the bike or be stolen from the bike by someone else.
But in saying all of that it doesn't mean you wont get some arse hat of an inspector on a bad day trying to make up his quoter.

Thanks Frank I have heard that too, I also heard though that you're still only allowed to park for the same max time that a car can park there. I guess it might be a case of going out every 4 hours and rotating the tyre to hide the chalk?

They dont use chalk anymore, they take a time stamped photo on a digi camera. Just go out and turn the bike around.twelvepointfour wrote:Thanks Frank I have heard that too, I also heard though that you're still only allowed to park for the same max time that a car can park there. The 2hour limit applies to the whole stretch of road. You can't just move it across the road and reset your time.Frank wrote:They dont use chalk anymore, they take a time stamped photo on a digi camera. I've heard this before too unfortunately.Wattie wrote:The 2hour limit applies to the whole stretch of road. However problem solved. As a matter of interest for anyone heading in to Parramatta, Horwood Place parking (the big multistory carpark not far off George St) is free if you park near the exit that heads out to Smith St. I confirmed this with one of the staff there, just drive in past the exit boom gate, and out the same way when you're done. So good news!
