Lane splitting ticket. "You'll get it in the post". ???

Post by Chitchats »

So I get pulled over for splitting, a bike copper nonetheless, just cruising up to the front between the traffic and there he was didn't see him until I was just off him.

Anyway traffics starts moving and I pull in and he pulls me up and talks about the dangers etc he then reckons my rear tyre is bald, it's on the wear markers and stating to get grainy through the centre but honestly not too bad.

He proceeds to tell me that I will get a ticket in the post for lane splitting and for a defective bike because of my tyre.

Is this the norm from a bike cop? Wouldn't he give me the bloody ticket on the spot?

Hoping nothing comes but who knows?

Ride safe. ;) :kuda:

Pretty sure if he reckons it was defective he would put a yellow sticker on it until it was repaired and as for the ticket for lane splitting I honestly think he is just going to let you sweat it out for a few wks until you realise the ticket is not coming

He might have had a busy day and filled his book......

If he was a highway patrol, you would expect it on the spot. If he was a VIP Escort bike, he might not have had a book with him...

But.... Yes they can send a ticket later in the post, whether he does or not shouldn't take more than a week or so to find out...

Mate I had the same thing happen to me a while ago. I worried my guts out but nothing turned up in the mail.
Did he write all your details down, or did he just do s radio check?
If he copied your detail's down in his note book. You might get a fine, if he did a radio check & then let you go, I think you might be lucky..

Had a copper pull me over for speeding almost 2 years ago.
Said the first time he locked on me i was doing 145, the second 118, and the third 105.
he informed me that since he was having a good day he was only going to do me for the 118.
Took my license, went to his car, came back a minute later and said that i could expect something in the mail in a week or two.
Still waiting!
Good thing he wasn't 5 ks up the road when i was doing a bit more than the speed limit ahem haha.

So,

I get the tickets, wanker!! :x

However he has got my number plate wrong on the ticket!? RMK instead of RKM, is this anything to dispute???

$232 for lane splitting and $99 for a "defective" rear tyre! (bullshit)

Would love to find a loop hole with the number plate thing, any advice? Dutchy??

Surely you can question the accuracy of the offence given the officer couldn't even copy the numberplate properly....it could have been someone else.....

Hahaha brilliant letter there.

Mate all you have to do is say that you received an infringement notice for a vehicle that you do not possess. If they fuckup writing the ticket, you don't have to cop it as it's a legal document.

If it helps, I got a ticket from a speed camera in Tas once. Told them I was never there, they said, yes you were! Sent me the photo and it was the same rego on a Tas license plate.. =/

They back tracked pretty quick, lol.
