National Parks Annual Pass?

Post by mooneydean »

Can anyone enlighten me to what the 'norm' is for having passes to get into NSW parks?

I know that you are supposed to have a pass fitted to the side of your bike to enter the park (unless paying for each entry) but who actually does this?
Is it the 'norm' to just cruise past the entry stations where they charge motorists if you're on a bike or what?
Or do you just buy a pass and keep it in your wallet to show at entry should you get asked?

Confused... :?

If you're referring to RNP (royal national park) and plan to take a ride through, you pay nothing.

It's not that great in terms of riding although the locals on here may disagree.

West head off McCarrs creek road you need a pass for, or wait until between 5 and 8 when the the booth closes and the gates are locked ;)

Yup, I got stung for $11 going through west heads a few weeks back. I am going to head up around the parks through from Calga to Wisemans on Thursday (never been before) and thought if I need any passes for those areas then I should just bite the bullet and go for an annual ALL park pass for $65.

BTW if anyone not working on Thursday and is open for a run then let me know?

Won't need a pass for the tar between Calga & WF ....
I've spent over 40 years of my life riding bikes .... the rest of it, I wasted ..

Agree. It's not a great road surface - that would be my only complaint, otherwise the road itself is OK but there are better.
