If I get to have a say in the matter it will include a trip to a bike race or two. So if you could do two locations where and when would you go?

There are rumblings around 'Castle De Kwakkers' that a trip to Europe is on the bucket list and the pressure is mounting.

MotoGP ?
Silverstone (UK) 1/9/13, followed a couple of weeks later by Misano (Italy) on 15/9/13.
Its a really nice time of the year over there in Aug/September.
WSBK.....the alternatives around this time are Nurburgring (1/9) and Istanbul Park (15/9)..... Monza & Donington are also only a couple of weeks apart, but they are next month, so probably too late for bookings, accomodation etc. September is still doable now

You will love Sepang it's an awesome track. Are you getting a pit box or are you going to be in the grand stands.ducati_paul wrote:I'm going to Sapang this year ... I know it's not Europe but just thought I'd mention it![]()

Grand stands OK, but you get over it after the first day, jump onto the Sepang Track website and have a look for the VIP pit box packages, well worth it, I have been twice now. Definatley don't go out to the paddocks though as you will be dodging Cobrasducati_paul wrote:Grand Stand, what's with the pit boxes??Frank wrote:You will love Sepang it's an awesome track. I've only seen grandstand or general admission?
The pit we were in had about 150 people in it(you can reserve tables or just move about the place, heaps of food and drink as part of the package as well. We were right over the last pit before the pit exit lane. We would also go for a walk over to the centre grandstand as well and head back to the air conditioned pits once it got a bit hot or if it decided to rain ( and by rain I mean it bucketed down . Funny thing is the only two bike manufacturers that had stalls there the last three years have been KTM & Kawasaki

Mate unless it has gone up significantly, thats about double on what we paid. I'll check with my friend who usually looked after it and see what he is paying this year. It's wasn't a private corporate box though.

So you reckon August September is the time to go eh Gos? How long did you go for?
It would have to be 2014 so I can save some holidays.

Re: Which MotoGP/WSBK would you go to?
we went over to Europe last year for a holiday - spent 3 weeks in Italy from early September through to the 22nd or so, then 1 week in Dubai. The time in Italy was great, only 1 day of rain in 3 weeks, temps all in the mid-high 20's.....really nice.

Re: Which MotoGP/WSBK would you go to?
I was in Italy for a week April last year, also fantastic weather, Italy is one of my favourite countries, the people are all pretty good and it's easy to get around without speaking Italian, there had been a Superbike round on in Italy the day we arrived but not sure where it was? at one point in our trip we got a little lost in our rental car and saw signs for Mugello track but wanted to get back on our proper route so didn't go for a lookGosling1 wrote:we went over to Europe last year for a holiday - spent 3 weeks in Italy from early September through to the 22nd or so, then 1 week in Dubai.
