I have a 1996 zx7r and was wanting to know how & where I could install a switch that will not allow the engine be started.

I've never done it on a bike, but with cars it's usually done on the earth lead on the low tension side of the coil. I'm sure if you followed the wires back from the right grip you could add a second switch in the present kill switch system.

Yankee - easy, just change the tank badges to Hoonda, Yamahaha etc

Thanks for the input.Yes its to keep people from stealing it.I know there is nothing I can do to stop most educated thives.The longer it takes them to steal it better your chances are.Im not going to make it easy on them

yeah easy stuff... just a case of another pair of wires coming off the battery... don't forget to put a fuse in line with the socket so it doesn't bugger your battery when it gets wet in the rain etc.

If you want to hinder a thief, get a farkin big chain and disc lock. switch may hinder a joy rider (unless they saw you flick it) but secure it to a post and they'll have more difficulty. Switches, alarms and imobilisers are little good in the back of a panal van
