yep, all the brake parts from a few bikes were done up at a place in Sydney - the backing plates for a couple of bikes, and the drum hubs for this 250/3 and also the mighty H2 hubs all were done at the same time. If you check the blokes website - he currently has pictures of my stuff up there as examples of how his method works on bike parts
its a slow low-impact wet tumble process, which uses a different medium altogether than any *blasting* process. It uses really small ball-bearing sized medium of all different shapes - cubes, diamonds, all sorts of weird little shapes. The parts go into this big donut-shaped tub and the whole lot slowly rotates with a lubricant to keep things moving smoothly. A few hours in here and the parts come out *immaculate* .
The small pieces get right into things like cylinder fins etc - and the surface treatment is permanent. If you get oil or dirt on the surface it will clean off no probs - unlike some surface treatments which stain if they get oil on them......its called Mass Finishing.
