I copped him first, same deal, had to hit the dirt, I signalled to him more bikes behind, obviously , he cares not. Send it to the cops, hopefully some good may come of it. Mike h

I think most of the logging driver think they are owners of the road around there, coming home from PI today, we were following a unladen logging truck doing at least 160k in the rain, with the spray it was throwing off we had no chance of passing until it turned off Nth of Cann River. And I thought Vic was pretty harsh on speedsters, with saying that we never saw 1 camera car on our travels from last Thursday till today, in fact the most police we actually saw was at the Entry to PI and cruising in and around the circuit.

Nelso as a partner of a law abiding officer I would have assumed you would know the law. I do believe that overtaking a turning vehicle is illegal, well sorry one displaying theses terms

I have forwarded your plate to the appropriate authorities! :kuda:

I wouldn't be surprised if the media got wind of it and made it out to be our fault. The HWY Patrol in the area have been notified. It will be interesting to hear what happens with it.

Not justifying his driving nor saying you guys did anything, but I reckon the truck driver and other locals attitude would something along the lines of.....
"every time there is an event at PI, we have to put up with the boy racers treating our road as their own personal race track"

Nope. The next truck driver we encountered while we were stopped at the end of a dirt section to regroup, stopped to tell us he was the last truck and to check how many more of us were coming through. He was also making an effort to stay on his side of the road.

The bloke using the whole road is a cowboy, simple as that. You are just going to have to come to terms with the fact that there are dickhead truck-drivers out there and you need to stop trying to make excuses for them. The footage I got was not as bad as the situation he put Leanne in! FFS, it's just a matter of time before this knob comes across an inexperienced rider who panics and he kills them. You CAN NOT justify these sort of actions.

The road we were on is not the usual route for bikes as they mostly go over Hotham. We were on there because Hotham was closed so there was a lot more bike traffic than usual. The road after the Falls Creek turn off used to be mostly dirt and is in the process of being surfaced at the moment, so when it is done, there are going to be a lot more bikes going through there as it will be a cracker of a road when it's finished. I would hate to see what this fuckwit is like once the road is heavily used by bikes. Someone is going to die as a result of his driving.

I agree Rob and like I've already said, I'm not trying to justify his driving. From your pics this guy obviously thinks he owns the road. I was just making an assumption as to what he and the locals might be thinking.

Most truck drivers are pretty good and try to do the right thing, but there are always going to be some cowboys. Just like most bike riders are pretty good and try to do the right thing, but again there are always going to be some cowboys.

So what if he disconnects the phone, he does have a number plate FFS you dont have to be a detective to work that out. Again GO TO THE COPS!

The HWP at Bairnsdale were notified Wednesday morning and have responded. They are pursuing the matter.

I have driven semis and b-doubles half my life and even used to run through gingers creek 3 night a week going over to the coast,as most off you relise some bends are tight so you need to go out a bit wide so you dont drop your trailer over the edge (but no need to go over the white line at all) Going on your photos especially the first one he looks to be doing the normal thing BUT after that i dont understand what he was thinking being that far over as he has enough room there to get a b-double around that corner. One other thing log trucks usually have shorter trailers than most trucks because of the tight twisty mountain roads they usually haul from so they dont need to be that far over .Therefore that only leaves one conclusion and that this bloke shouldnt be driving and putting peoples lives at risk.In defense of myself and some others as drivers we are not all cowboys on the road, there are some good ones out there and a lot of bad ones wether it be car ,bike or truck drivers.

A bloke here at work had exactly the same problem on the same road on Monday but with two different trucks (both empty). He asked me for the details of who you notified so he could do likewise. He was with a group of about 10 or so so there are plenty of witnesses.

Just read your post re HWP at Bairnsdale, forget the above.

Probably not the main point to my post, my fault for not explaining myself. If this guy ends up being of the end of any action as a result of this eg. court, the last you want to do is give him the ammo of becoming the victim because he has been continually harassed by the motorcycling community as a result of the incident.

"Your honor, as a result of this incident my client has been continuously harassed via his mobile phone and other media, he has definitely now more aware of what he has done and is very remorseful. Surely that is punishment enough."

Or maybe ACA will have a story of how rogue motorcyclists have been seeking vigilante justice by harassing a poor defenseless hard working, all Aussie truck driver.

There's always a spin. Lets leave it to the police to deal with for now, yeah?
