Power commander alternative
Power commander alternative
Hi Guys was just reading through some post of zx10 with pcv and 02 optimiser , my mate just bought a 3/4 titanium exhaust for his 2012 zx10 and it had no bung for the sensor and as it was titanium
not many people weld , so after going through all the options of piggy backs , optimiser and welding the cost started to get really high any way long story short he found a guy in sydney who turned his 02 sensor off via the ecu , dyno tuned his fuel and turned off decel fuel cut as well , so if any one else out there is having the same issue there is hope ill see if i can find out were if anyone is intrested

Re: Power commander alternative
I got a you tube video of the bike being dyno tuned , the computer software is making changes to the std ecu in real time , all mapping done through diagnostic port under back seat , so no power commander needed at all they said it changes fuel tables , ignition timing , secondary butterflies opening , o2 switched off , exhaust valve eliminated and auto tune feature that is in video

Hmmm interesting. I know my liberty has been tuned in a similar way with amazing results. Very cheap way of doing it using the stock computer.
And someone who actually knows what their doing with a laptop.

Haha I wish mate, but I'm not willing to sacrifice the warranty to much. All I need is a dump pipe, even leaving the stock exhaust and I will find another 30kwBlurr wrote:Fark your liberty has had a lot of work
I reckon he can find 30safe KW for your Wrx if your interested Russ.

Yeah mate I am with ya. Have been researching it abit myself.
I have a list of mods for under about 1k that should produce that and improve the drivability. Should be a stage 2 set up by the time I am done

Re: Power commander alternative
Just be careful installing these cheap ecu tunes, I read on another forum that a number of different manufacturers are uploading security software when you take your bike to the dealer. These non genuine ecu tunes will then result in a locked out ecu. The result will be an expensive new ecu.
So if you do install one of these ecu tunes, then tell your dealer not to touch your ecu or upload anything. Apparently an increase in ecu warranty claims is the reason behind this.
I have a "Tuneboy" tune uploaded on my Triumph, it is basically just an ecu tune also. I had the Triumph dealer install it as he is up on this issue and to ensure my warranty is not affected. Only downside is i'm now locked in to the Triumph dealer that installed it for the future, or at least till the warranty runs out.....

Well a tune combined with a few small mods will blow your mind. I'm seeing him this morning to do an update on it.
It's cheap too and he's been doing it for about 15years.

Triumph are doing it now and the Triumph Employee from the USA says that the others are doing it also or looking at doing it. Here is a link to the forum thread.Jonnymac wrote:Smithy have heard directly which brand/brands this relates too???
