Zx14r stutter at 7000rpm

Post by Zxr tigg »

Hi all, I'm new in here, not new to bikes, recently bought a zx14r & only mods are a pair of yoshi r77 slip ons, the problem is , at 7000rpm in 1st, there is a very definite stutter, I'm sure it is ktrc as it does not do it when ktrc turned off ( just goes vertical)! turned off or in second gear, i thought ktrc1 was supposed to be least intervening & allowed wheelies?
Anyone else found this

Zxr tigg,

I pick up my new ZX14R tomorrow - also fitted with yoshi r77s. Will keep an ear open for a stutter and get back to you once known.

Upgraded from my Z1000 - tried out the ZX10R, but hands down the 14 is the best all rounder - pluse I can walk when I get off of it, always a bonus.

All the Best

Some others have reported a stutter with the R77's at revs, a PC V & a remap usually fixes the problem as it seems to be fuel related.

Hi Fred thanks for your post, but as I said it does not do it with ktrc turned of , or so I think, trouble is you hit 6500 in first & it goes vertical so you have to back off anyway , my thought were that this was ktrc doing its job , just wanted to confirm with fellow owners ?

Fred, Tigg,

pcked her up today (less lowering linkage which I might solve tomorrow) - obv been told to keep the revs below 4k for the fiest 1K so will do. One thing that I will admit in front of our lower powered brothers and sisters - while i love the position etc etc even after only 200 KM today my wrists and inside of my elbows were hurting big style - maybe the drive down fron the NT in the ute has made me weak - perhaps should switch to the ZX10R (joking)? Still on the case - just need to get over first service
